2024 Thanksgiving Menu and Meal Prep Timeline

* image These past few months have been busy for our family, especially since our oldest joined a local swim team. Between juggling our work schedules and balancing school with practices... we're all pretty wiped out. Although it's a lot of work, I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving. Preparing the holiday meal for our family fills my heart with joy, and I can't wait to get started. To make things easier for me, I don't deviate much from  our first Thanksgiving  as a family. The dishes I make are familiar ones, and the recipes for them live at my fingertips. Keeping the same menu year after year means I don't have to spend time researching recipes or planning a new one. Here are my tried-and-true Thanksgiving recipes, as well as my prep timeline for the big day!

Blog Away Hunger - Help Haiti

Despite the hardships in my life - losing my mother to cancer, jumping off my career path in academia unexpectedly and being unsure of my next move, being laid off and spending four months unemployed in one of the most expensive cities in the country - I have always had a roof over my head and food on my table. I truly believe that experiencing those hardships and living to tell about them has made me appreciate life's basic necessities even more, and I will never take them for granted.

With this in mind, I have signed up with several other bloggers in order to Blog Away Hunger, an initiative started by Marc Matsumoto of No Recipes. We have all committed to donating all of the ad revenue earned by our blogs in January 2010 to aid the relief efforts in Haiti, which was crippled by a major earthquake and strong aftershock earlier this month. Our donations will help feed the 3 million people who were displaced by this natural disaster.

How Can You Help?

The ad revenue earned by Taste As You Go is based on the number of pages viewed. You can help increase the amount of my donation by going back through the archives and reading older posts. To help you get started, I've compiled a list of the "Best of 2009," something I didn't get around to doing after the New Year. Please click through and read the most popular blog posts of 2009, arranged by month. It doesn't take much effort or time to click through, and you can rest assured knowing that you are helping to increase my donation every time you do.

If you would like to donate directly, you can do so here. Be sure you select "Haiti Disaster" under Donor Designations. Help us help Haiti on the road to recovery.
