2024 Thanksgiving Menu and Meal Prep Timeline

* image These past few months have been busy for our family, especially since our oldest joined a local swim team. Between juggling our work schedules and balancing school with practices... we're all pretty wiped out. Although it's a lot of work, I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving. Preparing the holiday meal for our family fills my heart with joy, and I can't wait to get started. To make things easier for me, I don't deviate much from  our first Thanksgiving  as a family. The dishes I make are familiar ones, and the recipes for them live at my fingertips. Keeping the same menu year after year means I don't have to spend time researching recipes or planning a new one. Here are my tried-and-true Thanksgiving recipes, as well as my prep timeline for the big day!

Menu Plan: June 9 - June 15

Practicing My "Sock Bun" Technique | Taste As You Go

Stephen and I are attending the wedding of two of our friends later today. In preparation, I spent some time yesterday playing with my hair, trying different updo looks. Most days, I wear my hair down (no muss, no fuss), but I wanted to do something special for the occasion. The process was frustrating and overwhelming at times, but I finally felt comfortable enough with the low bun look to stop practicing and move on with the rest of my day.

Before we leave, though, I wanted to share this week's Menu Plan with you. It includes two meals courtesy of Plated, a company that makes it easy for anyone to prepare a gourmet meal at home in thirty minutes or less. Thanks to my so-called expertise in food and cooking, I was awarded a "Klout Perk" that offered me the opportunity to try Plated's service for free.

The ingredients for my chosen meals are due for delivery on Tuesday, and I can't wait to see how everything comes together. If all goes well, then I might be incorporating more Plated meals into our Menu Plan in the future.

Menu Plan: June 9 - June 15, 2013

Sunday: Wedding in Maryland
Monday: Rigatoni with Eggplant and Tomatoes from Real Simple
Tuesday: Southwestern Shrimp and Grits with Leeks and Asparagus (Plated)
Wednesday: Stephen's Choice
Thursday: Pomegranate-Yogurt Chicken with Cucumber Relish and Basmati Rice (Plated)
Friday: Pizza with Spicy Italian Sausage and Broccoli Rabe
Saturday: Birthday Dinner for Stephen

These meals may get shuffled around a bit since we're also celebrating Stephen's birthday this week, but flexibility is one of the benefits of having a Menu Plan, right?

So... what's on your Menu Plan this week?
