Red's All Natural Frozen Burritos and Quesadillas {and a Giveaway}
Red's All Natural Pulled Pork Quesadillas, Steak & Cheese Burrito, and Chicken & Cheese Burrito |
I was provided Red's All Natural products at no cost to me. Red's All Natural will be providing the prize for this giveaway, and I will be shipping the prize directly to the winner on their behalf. I did not accept monetary compensation for this post. All opinions expressed are my own.
While Stephen and I aren't terribly dependent on the items in the frozen foods aisle, with exception to frozen vegetables and tater tots (obviously), I will admit that the convenience of a frozen meal is very appealing. Especially when our schedules get the better of us and the idea of making dinner is overwhelming, even with the help of our Menu Plans.
But when it comes time to cave to the convenience, how do you know which products to choose?
Here's a hint: take a minute to read the label.
I always feel a little less guilty about buying packaged foods if I've actually read through the ingredients list first.

Enter Red's All Natural products. All of their frozen burritos and quesadillas are 100% all-natural, non-GMO, preservative-free, and made with antibiotic- and hormone-free meat and rBGH-free cheese. In other words, Red's All Natural products have some of the "cleanest" labels out there.
But how do they taste?

Let's start with the burritos. Package directions recommend thawing the burritos in the microwave before reheating them in the oven, and while I was tempted to just follow the microwave-only instructions, I'm glad I didn't. Finishing the burritos in the oven gave the tortillas a nice crisp texture on the outside while heating the filling enough to melt the cheese to a gooey consistency.
Both burritos were flavorful, had a nice level of heat to them from the jalapenos without being overly spicy, and had a generous amount of meat in them. I only wished they had more brown rice. With the meat and the cheese and the beans and the corn... it was hard to tell whether the rice was really in there.
Of the two, Stephen and I liked the Chicken & Cheese Burrito the best.

Now, let's talk about the Pulled Pork Quesadillas. I'll admit that I was hesitant to try these because pork isn't something we eat on a regular (or even semi-regular) basis. But, I have to say that I thought these quesadillas were tasty! You could really taste the layers of flavor in the barbecue sauce, from the sweetness of the brown sugar to the smokiness of the liquid smoke.
At first glance, I thought I'd be able to eat both quesadillas (there are 2 per box) for lunch, but they were so over-stuffed with pulled pork that I had to pass along what I couldn't finish to Stephen.
Aside from a satisfying and filling lunch, I think a few boxes of these quesadillas would make an ideal party appetizer or the perfect game-day snack.
