2024 Thanksgiving Menu and Meal Prep Timeline

* image These past few months have been busy for our family, especially since our oldest joined a local swim team. Between juggling our work schedules and balancing school with practices... we're all pretty wiped out. Although it's a lot of work, I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving. Preparing the holiday meal for our family fills my heart with joy, and I can't wait to get started. To make things easier for me, I don't deviate much from  our first Thanksgiving  as a family. The dishes I make are familiar ones, and the recipes for them live at my fingertips. Keeping the same menu year after year means I don't have to spend time researching recipes or planning a new one. Here are my tried-and-true Thanksgiving recipes, as well as my prep timeline for the big day!

Menu Plan: May 20 - May 25

I had every intention of posting this week's Menu Plan when I got home from my high school reunion in Connecticut last night. But there were traffic back-ups that caused major delays and frustration that, by the time I got home, all I wanted to do was curl up in my armchair to watch Mad Men.

When I woke up this morning, writing this post was the first item on my to-do list (after coffee, of course). But my Inbox exploded and I got bombarded with phone calls. It wasn't until late morning that I realized I had yet to write one word.

As I feared it would, the craziness continued well past lunch and into the late afternoon. Before the sun sets and it's actually time for me to start making dinner, I decided to sit down and force myself to get the writing done.

Menu Plan: May 20 - May 25, 2013

Monday: Spicy Thai Peanut Noodles from Buns In My Oven
Tuesday: Filet Mignon with Fiery Pomegranate Sauce, Jasmine Rice, and Sugar Snap Peas
Wednesday: Stephen's Choice
Thursday: Herb Grilled Chicken with Creamy Broccoli Orzo from Smells Like Home
Friday: Spinach and Ricotta Pizza
Saturday: Pretzel Roll Surprise

Two special items of note:

* I forgot to buy broccoli when I was at the grocery store this morning. Looks like I'll need to make at least one additional trip to Giant this week.

* Last week, I received a shipment of pretzel rolls from company located just outside of Chicago, so I'll be experimenting with the rolls for Saturday night's dinner.

What's on your Menu Plan this week?
