Full of Crepe - Bethlehem, PA |
When it comes to weekend brunch, Stephen and I have fallen into a somewhat predictable routine. We bounce back and forth between our favorite restaurants and only occasionally decide to stray outside our comfort zone. The desire to try something new and a little inspiration from a friend's Instagram feed led us to
Full of Crepe on Bethlehem's South Side.
Honestly, I'm stunned it took us so long to try their crepes. We should have added them to our regular brunch rotation
a long time ago.

Menu Board - Full of Crepe - Bethlehem, PA |
Because
Full of Crepe consists of a tiny counter and a small cooking space, it operates entirely as a take-out facility. Once you place your order, you claim a spot on the sidewalk right in front of the restaurant and wait for them to bring your food out. During peak times, it can take up to an hour or so to fill orders, so there's plenty of time to wander around the neighborhood or take a stroll around Lehigh University's campus.

Or, you can look through their window and watch as the crepes are prepared. The ladies running the show are really friendly, and they don't mind having an audience.
At least, that's what they told me as I was shooting a few quick photos!

Christy Cristo Crepe - Full of Crepe - Bethlehem, PA |
Turns out, it's a lot easier taking photos of someone
making crepes than it is of the finished crepe. After the crepe's been folded, it's difficult focusing in on the fillings.
Oops.
Stephen ordered a crepe from
Full of Crepe's savory menu, the
Christy Cristo ($8.50), made with Board's Head ham and turkey, Swiss cheese, and raspberry preserves. The crepe is then finished with both maple syrup and a dusting of powdered sugar. He really enjoyed it, but I thought the combination of the preserves and the syrup was too much for a savory item.

I, on the other hand, ordered a crepe that was, without question, a
sweet crepe. I went with the
Moravian Sugar Cake Crepe ($4.50), filled with brown sugar, cinnamon, and butter.
Yes, yes, and yes.
Despite the brown sugar, the filling wasn't overwhelming, and I loved how each bite just melted in my mouth.

Sweet P Crepe - Full of Crepe - Bethlehem, PA |
Not knowing how filling each crepe would be, Stephen ordered a second crepe in addition to the
Christy Christo. This time, he went with one from the sweet side of the menu. The
Sweet P Crepe ($7.50) is filled with Nutella, peanut butter, fresh raspberries, and Crème Anglaise.
After only taking a few bites, it was clear that he wasn't going to finish the
Sweet P, even with my help. Having both the Nutella
and the peanut butter in the filling made the crepe heavy, and while we loved all of the flavor components, it was just too much to handle after we had each eaten a whole crepe beforehand.
Stephen and I loved
Full of Crepe and both wished that the business had been open when we were undergrads at Lehigh. If it had been, then I think we would have been spending a lot of our money there instead of eating in the dining hall.
Insider's Tip: Since
Full of Crepe only does take-out orders, it's best to call in your order before making your way down to the restaurant, especially during peak hours.
