60 Ultimate Cookie Exchange Recipes {and When It's Time to End It}

If you're looking for a winning recipe for your holiday cookie swaps, then scroll through this round-up  of 60 Ultimate Cookie Exchange Recipes on Taste As You Go!   Do you ever get That Feeling in your gut when you realize that what once brought you happiness now fills you with dread? You know the one... It's That Same Feeling that causes you to ask yourself repeatedly " Why am I doing this again?" I've been trying to battle that super persistent feeling for the past few weeks by giving myself little pep talks: "Don't give up now. You DO want to do this!"  "Don't you remember how much you used to love doing this? Just keep going!" " Do it one more time and you'll see -- everything will be fine. You'll feel much better once you get it over with." But no matter how many times I tried to get excited about it, I found a reason to avoid doing it. (Thank you, Caroline.) That's when I knew it was time to e

Christmas at The Outlets at Sands Bethlehem | Taste As You Go
Christmas at The Outlets at Sands Bethlehem

Last week, I made two separate trips to our local outlet mall. In the time in between those two trips, the staff had created a festive Christmas wonderland where children can line up to have their photos taken with Santa. While the space was beautifully decorated, I couldn't help but feel that it was still too soon to be focusing on Christmas traditions, especially since we still haven't celebrated Thanksgiving yet.

Doesn't it seem as if the holiday season kicks off earlier and earlier each year?

By asking this question, I don't mean to imply that I'm not looking forward to Christmas and everything that goes with it -- spending time with family and friends, baking cookies, selecting and decorating our tree. I just want to be able to enjoy this time of year and each holiday in its own right, in its own time, without having to worry about keeping an eye on what's coming next. To focus on the now rather than on the later.

I suppose it's a little strange for me to be sharing these thoughts with you guys in a Menu Plan post. After all, I create each Menu Plan to have an idea of what to make for dinner ahead of time in order to eliminate the nightly "What do you want to have for dinner?" discussion. But you guys know what I'm trying to say, right?

Even if you don't, just nod your head and smile, and then keep reading to see what's on the Menu Plan this week.

Menu Plan: November 17 - November 23, 2013

Sunday: Asian-Style Lamb Rib Chops with Jasmine Rice and Sugar Snap Peas

Monday: Roasted Butternut Squash Soup

Tuesday: Turkey Taco Night

Wednesday: Stephen's Choice

Thursday: Pasta with Roasted Broccoli, Garlic, and Olive Oil

Friday: Meatball Parmesan Sandwiches

Since it'll just be me for dinner, it didn't make sense to plan a traditional Pizza Night. Instead, I'll just make some sandwiches with the meatballs I have in the freezer. Easy peasy!

Saturday: Post-game Free-for-All

Saturday is the big football game of the season -- The Rivalry -- so we'll decide what to eat afterwards. I'm betting take-out will be involved.
