2024 Thanksgiving Menu and Meal Prep Timeline

* image These past few months have been busy for our family, especially since our oldest joined a local swim team. Between juggling our work schedules and balancing school with practices... we're all pretty wiped out. Although it's a lot of work, I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving. Preparing the holiday meal for our family fills my heart with joy, and I can't wait to get started. To make things easier for me, I don't deviate much from  our first Thanksgiving  as a family. The dishes I make are familiar ones, and the recipes for them live at my fingertips. Keeping the same menu year after year means I don't have to spend time researching recipes or planning a new one. Here are my tried-and-true Thanksgiving recipes, as well as my prep timeline for the big day!

Menu Plan: June 30 - July 5

Sharing our Menu Plan for June 30 - July 5, 2014

Sunday Waffles with Strawberries | Taste As You Go
Sunday Waffles with Strawberries

This week's Menu Plan is coming to you guys a little late. Stephen and I were up in Connecticut over the weekend visiting my family, and by the time we got home from our trip last night, I was too tired to do much more than flop in front of the television with some pizza and a nice, cold beer. But now it's Monday and it's back to business as usual.

Ready to see what's on deck for dinner for us this week?

Menu Plan: June 30 - July 5, 2014

Monday: Pasta with Sauteed Broccoli and Mushrooms

The broccoli and mushrooms were supposed to go on top of last Friday's pizza, but we opted to eat out instead. We couldn't bear the thought of turning on the oven and heating up the kitchen.

Tuesday: French Basil Chicken with White Rice

This dish first appeared on our Menu Plan the week of June 8th. Rather than adapt the recipe to feed two people, I made the full recipe and froze half of it. We'll be enjoying the frozen portion this week. After I thaw it out and heat it up, of course.

Wednesday: Stephen's Choice

Thursday: Dinner at Burgers and More by Emeril

I've been invited to dine at Burgers and More by Emeril to try out some of the items on their menu. To maximize the opportunity, Stephen will be coming with me. Look for my review of the restaurant soon!

Friday: Fourth of July

Since we're still finalizing our plans for July 4th, I didn't plan a specific meal. Truth be told, I'm hoping we just phone it in by grilling up some hamburgers and hot dogs. (What better dinner on July 4th, right?) Maybe I'll even make up some more potato salad to bring it all together.

Saturday: Falafel Salad with Chopped Romaine, Tomatoes, and Cucumbers

What's on your Menu Plan this week? Are you making anything fun to celebrate the holiday? Let me know in the comments below!
