2024 Thanksgiving Menu and Meal Prep Timeline

* image These past few months have been busy for our family, especially since our oldest joined a local swim team. Between juggling our work schedules and balancing school with practices... we're all pretty wiped out. Although it's a lot of work, I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving. Preparing the holiday meal for our family fills my heart with joy, and I can't wait to get started. To make things easier for me, I don't deviate much from  our first Thanksgiving  as a family. The dishes I make are familiar ones, and the recipes for them live at my fingertips. Keeping the same menu year after year means I don't have to spend time researching recipes or planning a new one. Here are my tried-and-true Thanksgiving recipes, as well as my prep timeline for the big day!

Menu Plan: April 2 - April 8 {and a Gender Reveal}

Sharing our Menu Plan for April 2 - April 8.

Leg cramps. Aching back and hips. Braxton Hicks contractions. Fits of insatiable hunger followed by absolute disgust over everything food-related. Insomnia... All in the same week.

I had forgotten about the joys of the second trimester.

But the real joys make the discomfort worth it. Like making the decision to find out the baby's gender and then sharing the news with family and friends. (Click on "Read More" below to find out whether we're expecting a boy or a girl!) And feeling the baby's increasing movements... even if they do involve kicking my bladder non-stop. And having the energy to spend several hours completing a task that's been on my to-do list forever.

It's a BOY! Baby BOY Rittler is due this August!

Insomnia, in particular, has been frustrating for me. I know I should be sleeping and recharging. Especially now because the upcoming week at work is going to be insane. But I do like how it's allowed me to catch up a bit on life while the rest of the family sleeps and the house is quiet.

With any luck, I'll get to start writing another blog post after sharing this week's menu plan. So... are you ready to see what's on deck for dinner at our house this week?
