2024 Thanksgiving Menu and Meal Prep Timeline

* image These past few months have been busy for our family, especially since our oldest joined a local swim team. Between juggling our work schedules and balancing school with practices... we're all pretty wiped out. Although it's a lot of work, I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving. Preparing the holiday meal for our family fills my heart with joy, and I can't wait to get started. To make things easier for me, I don't deviate much from  our first Thanksgiving  as a family. The dishes I make are familiar ones, and the recipes for them live at my fingertips. Keeping the same menu year after year means I don't have to spend time researching recipes or planning a new one. Here are my tried-and-true Thanksgiving recipes, as well as my prep timeline for the big day!

An Ending and a Beginning

It's been three months... I think it's time to end my blogging hiatus, don't you?

Wow, you guys.

I don't mean to sound cliché, but it's true what they say -- a lot can change in a year. This time last June, I was dealing with a pregnancy-related scare. At 31 weeks, I was grappling with the news that I'd have to spend the rest of my pregnancy in the hospital.

Fast-forward... Jonathan is now crawling, pulling up, and babbling up a storm. And we're three weeks away from celebrating his first birthday! But that's not the only major life event we're celebrating...

I'll be starting a new job in Connecticut in July!

Stephen and I listed our house at the end of May and life has been a bit chaotic ever since. The timing of our move happens to coincide with his busy travel season (of course)... so I've been coordinating a lot of the necessary logistics while he's been on the road. I now know how hard it is to keep everything neat with two young kids in the house!

Truth, though?

This change is definitely a bittersweet one, and my emotions are all over the place. While I'm excited about the new challenges ahead and about moving back to my home state, I'm sad at the same time. The Lehigh Valley has been the setting of some of the major moments in our relationship. Stephen and I met here... got engaged here... started our family here... It's going to be so hard leaving the place we've called home for so many years.

But this career opportunity was too great to pass up. We're moving on... moving forward. In the next couple of weeks, we'll be writing the final passages of this current chapter so we can begin writing the next one.

Now, I know I've jumped in and out of blogging ever since Caroline was born. There were prolific periods punctuated by silent ones. And, although I haven't been writing as often as I'd like, I still want to do it... I still want to share recipes and stories with you... so I'm going to keep at it. Even from Connecticut.

I hope you all come along for the journey.

XO,
Michelle

PS. Any tips for staying sane while trying to sell your house?!?
