2024 Thanksgiving Menu and Meal Prep Timeline

* image These past few months have been busy for our family, especially since our oldest joined a local swim team. Between juggling our work schedules and balancing school with practices... we're all pretty wiped out. Although it's a lot of work, I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving. Preparing the holiday meal for our family fills my heart with joy, and I can't wait to get started. To make things easier for me, I don't deviate much from  our first Thanksgiving  as a family. The dishes I make are familiar ones, and the recipes for them live at my fingertips. Keeping the same menu year after year means I don't have to spend time researching recipes or planning a new one. Here are my tried-and-true Thanksgiving recipes, as well as my prep timeline for the big day!

Honey Cornbread Muffins

A single honey cornbread muffin sitting on a plate with a cake stand of additional muffins behind it.

These tender cornbread muffins have a gentle sweetness that's simply irresistible thanks to a touch of honey... and the batter comes together in no time making these muffins perfect for any day of the week!

For as long as I can remember, my approach to blogging has been to publish content when it seemed most relevant.

Like a Mother's Day Gift Guide a few weeks before the holiday... or my favorite stuffing recipe near Thanksgiving... or recipes featuring peppermint (like this one and this one) in the weeks leading up to Christmas.

Of course, I bet you know what I'm going to say next.

This approach doesn't take reality into account. 😔

Unless I can carve out time to write content well in advance, this just doesn't work.

Something always comes up and causes me to miss my publishing window. So I put the drafts on the back burner and make a vow to be more on top of things the following year.

Again... I'm sure you can figure out how this has been working out for me. 😂

Then I read recently—and I can't remember where—that I should stop doing that. Instead, I should publish the content when I have it and then promote and share it on social media when relevant.

This approach sounds much less stressful to me... and, honestly, totally doable.

Now... if I actually shared this recipe when I finished editing the photos, you would've seen it on the blog a little more than FOUR YEARS ago. In fact, I took these photos right around the time I started experiencing issues with my second pregnancy.

So, okay. Maybe I did have a good reason for delaying the publication of this Honey Cornbread Muffin recipe. But I think waiting four years is a bit excessive. 😂

Let's not wait any longer to share it!

If you've made it this far, then scroll just a bit more for the recipe!

PS. Please enjoy this adorable photo of our then-two-year-old daughter 😍, with that slight curl in her hair, enjoying one of these muffins still warm from the oven.
