What's for Dinner: August 22 - August 28
First, thanks to everyone who sent well-wishes and congratulations about my blog anniversary. You are all the best!
Second... This weekend has been a whirlwind so far.
We kicked things off with some family fun at the drive-in on Friday night... (and crossed off another item on our Summer Bucket List). Then we headed out early yesterday to run some errands ahead of our storm prep.
We wanted to make sure we had everything in place before Henri's arrival today. My husband took care of securing things around the house while I plowed through all the laundry. Now I don't have to worry about doing laundry today with potential for a power outage later.
For a while, I wasn't sure whether I'd need to adjust the menu plan I created for this week. We usually have grocery deliveries on Sunday mornings... and I knew there was a solid chance of having our delivery cancelled because of the storm.
Thankfully, our order arrived early and the only thing missing was the milk. But we can live without that until I can get to the store.
All we have to do now is hunker down and wait it out. If you're curious to see what's on deck for dinner at our house this week, then keep reading.
PS. Even though the storm has been downgraded in our area from hurricane to tropical storm, I'm still anxious about it. If you're in an area affected by the storm, please stay safe!
A Week of Dinners: August 22 - August 28
- Sunday: Turkey and Gravy over Mashed Potatoes with Creamed Corn
I'll use the milk that's already in our refrigerator to make my mashed potatoes. - Wednesday: Leftovers
- Thursday: Grilled Sweet Italian Sausage with Sauteed Onions and Peppers and Grilled Zucchini
- Saturday: Grilled Cheese with Tomato Soup and French Fries
