As the weather warms up here in New England, it's the perfect time to give your wardrobe a little spring refresh. After months of layering up, our favorite basics—like tee shirts and tank tops—can start to show signs of wear. Whether it's stretched-out necklines, faded colors, or mystery stains that just won't budget, spring is the ideal season to replace those go-to pieces.
As moms, we're so focused on taking care of everyone else that it's easy to overlook our own needs. But something as simple as replacing a few well-loved pieces can be a form of self-care—reminding us that we deserve to feel comfortable, confident, and put-together, too.
I recently stocked up on affordable wardrobe essentials from Old Navy and Gap Factory, so I thought I'd share my finds with you. Keep reading for my new favorite spring basics and affordable style picks that are perfect for busy moms who want to look and feel their best without breaking the bank.

Oversized Button-Down Boyfriend Shirt in Oxford Blue | Old Navy
On Sale for $22.19
This shirt is so soft. I tend to wear it when I'm lounging around the house.
Textured Crewneck Sweater in Primitive Pink and Indigo Heather | Gap Factory
On Sale for $20
I reach for these sweaters every time I want to elevate my jeans-and-a-tee-shirt look with a lightweight layer. I can't even begin to tell you how many times I've worn them since I bought them last month!
Scoopneck Midi Dress in Bainbridge Blue | Gap Factory
On Sale for $24
This dress is fantastic when paired with a denim jacket. I wear it with my traditional blue denim jacket, but I'm considering looking for a white denim jacket just to have options.
Plus... it has pockets!

Mid Rise Downtown Khakis in Khaki | Gap Factory
On Sale for $29.99
I live in Connecticut and work at an independent school. Khakis are a must-have in the wardrobe department.
Ribbed Crewneck T-Shirt in White Graphic, Grey, and Black | Gap Factory
White Graphic and Black On Sale for $17.49 | Grey On Sale for $10
Favorite Ribbed Crewneck T-Shirt in White Graphic, Black, and Grey | Gap Factory

Favorite Ribbed Crewneck T-Shirt in Khaki Stripe and Navy Stripe | Gap Factory
Khaki Stripe On Sale for $20.99 | Navy Stripe On Sale for $12
When I initially bought these tee shirts, I thought I was going a little overboard. But now that I've worn them several times in solid rotation, I think I grabbed the right amount.
What do you think? How did I do? What other affordable basics would you recommend?
PS. Gap Factory has some fantastic offers running right now, including free shipping, a Spring Cyber Sale (60% Off), and an Extra 60% Off Clearance. The offers are good through April 30, so don't sleep on these deals!
